The media reported that Tharindu Uduwaragedera, a Journalist has been assaulted and arrested by Borella Police on 28th July 2023 while reporting a protest. The same day the Rapid Response Team of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) visited Borella Police station and inquired about the condition of Uduwaragedera.
