Empowering Women in the Informal Sector: A Human Rights Agenda — 08 Mar 2018

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka launched the report titled ‘Empowering women in the Informal Sector: A Human Rights Agenda’ on 08th March 2018. The report is compiled based on round table discussions held by the Commission, including its ten Regional Offices, on International Women’s Day 2017. Over the past two years, HRCSL has focused on the lived realities, both challenges and triumphs, of women working in the informal sector, particularly in non-urban areas, with a view to addressing discrimination and marginalization faced by them.
