On April 19, 2023, the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) held a meeting with representatives from the LGBTQ community, including individuals and institutions, to discuss the well-being of LGBTQ people and address pressing issues. The representatives presented a request letter to the Chairperson of the HRCSL, Justice Rohini Marasinghe, highlighting the issues faced by LGBTQ people that need to be resolved.
