With deep sorrow, the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka announces that Dr. Nimal Karunasiri, Commissioner, (December 10, 2020 – June 17, 2023) the Human Rights Commission Sri Lanka, passed away on 17th June 2023 after a brief illness.

The Chairperson, Commissioners and staff of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka deeply condole with the passing away of Dr. Nimal Karunasiri.

The remains will lie at No. 130/15 A, Samanala Place, Navinna, Maharagama, and the funeral will take place on June 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mirihana Crematorium.
