(English) HRCSL starts an inquiry on the explosion of household LP Gas
The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has started an inquiry on explosions of household LP Gas. On 9th December 2021, HRCSL met the officials of the State Ministry of Consumer Protection, Consumer Protection Authority, and Sri Lanka Standards Institute as well as two complaints; Young Journalist Association Sri Lanka and Chief Editor of the MediaLK.com news site for the inquiry.
The objective of the inquiry is to find a quick solution to protect LP Gas consumers from any potential harm from explosions as well as to encourage them to take quick actions in this regard. HRCSL has summoned Gas Companies and other related institutions to the Head office of the HRCSL on 17th December 2021 for this inquiry.
