- Public Reports of sessions of the GANHRI sub committee on Accreditation 14-18 May 2018
Golbal Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) Sub Committee on Accreditation (SCA) recommends that the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka be re- accredited with A status. It is granted to the commission for being independent and for its adherence to the Paris Principals.
The Sub Committee commends the work carried out and the improvements made by the Commission since its last accreditation especially given the difficult context in which it operates.
The Sub Committee also encourages to Commission to interpret its mandate broadly to promote a progressive definition of human rights which includes all rights set out in international, regional, and domestic instruments, including economic, social, and cultural rights.
The Accreditation is a guarantee to the public that the Commission works to protect and promote human rights in the country.
