International Women’s Day, which falls annually on the 08^th of March, recognizes the incredible achievements of women across the world, their contributions to society, their resilience in the face of challenges, and their unwavering fight for equality. However, despite the progress made, gender inequality remains a harsh reality for many women and girls. Many still face discrimination, violence, unequal opportunities, and a lack of legal protection. They are often denied their fundamental rights to education, economic independence, and personal security. This year’s theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment” speaks on the urgency of ensuring that every woman regardless of her background, economic status, or social identity, has access to her rights, equal opportunities, and the ability to live a dignified life.
